Mated: 26th November 2009
Due: 19th December 2009
This is a inbreed litter following two outcrosses, so some of the colours we've intentionally and unintentionally accumulated
are appearing in this litter.
My foundation mating (this litter's great grandparents) was cinnamon x Russian blue Essex, but they produced two British blue kittens, so
it appeared that they both carried
British blue from several generations back. Cinnamon is the variety name for mink agouti, so we knew we had both blue genes and British mink
in the line. Then one of my foundation doe's brothers sired a litter containing American mink kittens, which introduced the possibility
that we also had American mink genes in the line.
I originally planned this mating with Diggory, Tyburn's grandfather, but he's beginning to slow a little now, and this mating
follows more closely my stated intention of breeding down from my previous litter. I also hoped that by using a black sire I could
keep the colour combinations less complicated. Hah!
Tyburn is bright and busy and Effra an exceptionally friendly and handleable little girl. I'm expecting some lovely natured babies.
Expected Varieties:
Mating Tyburn to Effra should give me mostly agouti and black and a smaller chance of cinnamon and mink. There is also a chance of variations on Russian Blue and British Blue. Effra and Tyburn are very well matched, both bright and busy, and I'm expecting friendly, outgoing kittens from this pair.
Actual Varieties: agouti, mink, British blue, Russian blue, Bb agouti, Rb agouti.
Number of Kittens: 10 kittens, 6 male and 4 female.
Keepers: Amber, Lea, Moss, Derwent, Trent
Homed: Dante, Tesla, Apollo, Oscar, Samson.
