About Moselle

Moselle was born in my third Brandywine litter, and was one of seven littermates, four boys and three girls. Moselle is friendly and beautiful little girl. Her mink colouring in conjunction with her Essex markings makes a lovely soft grey colour, and the light undercoat which she has inherited from her mum Grace gives an effect similar to pearl. Moselle's gradation to her white belly is very patchy, so she doesn't have show quality markings. I put off breeding from Moselle as she was a little skittish as a kitten, but she has grown and matured into a steady doe. I can't remember the last time she spooked at something.

Moselle is named after the river Moselle. She and her siblings are named after rivers of London, to celebrate the fact that their mother Grace came from a rattery in London.

MRC Cup Show, 3rd October 2009 - Unplaced in Adult Owned Doe Adult (Pet).
Very pretty. Nice short claws. Very active. Slips out of the hands like soap. Quite nosey, but not excessively cuddly. Lovely whiskers. (JB)

Health

28th October 2009 - little finger of right hand missing. Looks recent but almost healed.
10th November 2010 - Slightly wheezy. Course of Marbocyl.
7th April 2011 - Wheezy at times.
29th May 2011 - Wheezes steadily worsening. Mammary lump between front legs.
Monday 4th July 2011 - Breathing is as good as it's going to get - lump removal booked for Wednesday.
Wednesday 6th July 2011 - Lump removed. Very dodgy breathing under anaesthetic, so this is her last op.
Friday 19th August 2011 - Already very frail, now with nasty chest infection and panic attacks. Put to sleep.

Temperament

Steadied down nicely as she has matured.
