About Lea

Lea was born in my fourth Brandywine litter, and was one of ten littermates, four girls and six boys. She reminds me very strongly of her grandma, Grace - just as beautiful and loving, with a very similar face.

Lea is named after the River Doe Lea, a Derbyshire river, to celebrate my eldest's recent graduation from Derby University.

Awards/Critiques

YRC/MRC Joint 1* Show, Hallowe'en 31st October 2010
2nd of 3 in Russian Blue Adult

Nice typey doe but watch her weight. Good head and eye. Fair ear. Good tail. Top coat reasonable depth of colour but rusting. Chew marked coat. (ET)

Health

24th November 2010 - Very slight wheeze on occasion.
30th April 2011 - Wheezy and losing weight. Started on Baytril.
4th May 2011 - no improvement. Started on high dose Clavaseptin.
5th May 2011 - some improvement.
6th May 2011 - Convenia
9th May 2011 - Possible allergy to fabric conditioner in some 2nd hand hammocks. Dexadreson.
10th May 2011 - Good reaction to steroid. Longer lasting jab. 12th May 2011 - Still some wheeziness. Still losing weight.
21st May 2011 - Continuing on Doxy and Dex as still tight chested and still losing weight. Seems much better in herself.
25th May 2011 - Looks healthy, coat in incredibly good condition, but still losing weight quickly. Seems hungry but loses interest after a couple of mouthfuls. I'm going to lose her if she doesn't start eating soon.
6th June 2011 - Fluffed up and poorly. Completely skeletal. Put to sleep. Such an incredible shame. Visual PM confirmed severely abscessed lungs - suspected CK triggered by allergy/steroids.

Temperament

Really lovely natured, gentle little doe.
