Health: 12th Sept 2008 - Throat abscess. Vet removed dead skin under anaesthetic, drained abscess, 0.1ml Amoxy inj.
15th Sept 2008 - returned for repeat injection, but healed so well she didn't need it.
26th Oct 2008 - Necrotic throat abscess. Sigh.
27th Oct 2008 - The little darling. At 6pm Cally and I were at the vets making an appointment for her to go in tomorrow and have her abscess flushed and cleaned up. At 7.30pm she'd completely removed the thing, leaving a circle of healthy pink flesh!
28th Oct 2008 - 0.1mls Amoxypen LA 100ml inj.
7th Dec 2008 - Throat abscess. Aargh! We're going to let it come to a head and then clean it out and see how it goes.
9th Dec 2008 - Abscess coming to a head. Bathed with warm saline.
10th Dec 2008 - Abscess burst and drained itself. Bathing it daily. Maybe that's it?
13th Dec 2008 - Abscess healing very well.
30th Dec 2008 - Bite to whisker bed during this evening. Beginning to swell.
31st Dec 2008 - Swelling not too bad.
7th Jan 2009 - Almost healed.
12th Jan 2009 - Throat abscess. Bathing plus Baytril.
15th Jan 2009 - Healing up nicely.
21st Jan 2009 - Facial abscess near the bite on her whisker bed. Trying the usual bathing and Baytril but not sure how long I can hold my nerve without going to the vet.
23rd Jan 2009 - Abscess burst.
7th Mar 2009 - Chin abscess. Not too bad at present.
11th Mar 2009 - Burst, drained well.
18th April 2009 - Looking unwell
20th April 2009 - Swollen right eye - SDA outbreak?
22nd April 2009 - Ivermectin for mites. Clavaseptin for SDA. Eye ointment. Calpol.
1st May 2009 - repeat Ivermectin. Swelling has gone down. Had an abscess above eye. Eye looks much better, no infection left but no sight left. Don't know now if it was all abscesses and coincidence, but will quarantine us all anyway.
22nd June 2009 - Cally is worrying me. She's disoriented and off balance, nibble grooming too hard on me and her cagemates. Looking scarily like a pituitary tumour, but came on too fast. Vets tomorrow.
23rd June 2009 - Assuming infection to brain gaining access through the bad eye. High dose of Convenia, return for steroids if no improvement. Bruxing for no apparent reason. Maybe I should have asked for painkiller?
24th June 2009 - Possibly marginally better, still very upsetting. No longer walking off edges, but chased her own tail at one stage. Gave her some Metacam in case it's hurting. Not eating well at all.
28th June 2009 - I think I need to let her go tomorrow. I've had her on Baytril in addition to the Convenia, the eye is now visibly infected and she's not improving. Fluffed up and unhappy. Just so stupidly unfair!
29th June 2009 - Lost another 40g. Put to sleep.

Temperament: Incredibly sweet little doe with a streak of mischief.
