Gender: doe
Variety: black? roan dumbo
Born: April 2007
Died: 12th January 2009
Origin: Pets at Home June '07 then rehome May '08
Litter Mates: Possibly Princess Rose
Health: 21st November 2008 - It looks as if someone's mistaken her leg for a chicken bone! She's got chomp holes and an abscess coming up under the leg. Poor little miss.
1st December 2008 - Lump gone, dry scabs still there.
11th December 2008 - Ashamed of myself. I should've taken her to the vet earlier! She has an infection in the muscle and a skin infection. 0.11ml Convenia, appointment for Weds 17th or sooner if it gets worse.
11th December 2008 - Poss mites - felt slight scabbing on neck - Ivermectin.
17th December 2008 - 2nd Convenia jab.
19th December 2008 - 2nd dose Ivermectin.
22nd December 2008 - Vet visit, scarring to leg muscle, infection still lurking. Op tomorrow to clean it all up.
23rd December 2008 - Scar tissue removed. No infection found.
6th January 2009 - Looking poorly, slightly spaced out, staring coat. Can't see what's wrong. Porphyrin round one eye.
7th January 2009 - Vet visit. Suggested re-start Metacam, if that doesn't work by Monday try Synulox. Nipples swollen - phantom pregnancy?
8th January 2009 - Problems holding food. Pituitary tumour? Lactation can be a symptom of this and the anaesthetic can bring on symptoms.
9th January 2009 - I'm sure it's a pt. She can't hold her food because her arms cross over, is having problems chewing hard food, and is rolling when she tries to walk.
12th January 2009 - RIP sweet Harmony. xx
Temperament: Sweet, determined, licky girl.
Harmony was much loved by her previous mum, but came to live me in May 2008 when she was about one year old due to allergies in the family. She was called Hardy, but we've renamed her to fit in with the feminine names of her new cagemates. She's a beautiful little roan dumbo with incredibly big black eyes who loves to explore, is always ready to come out, and is very sociable and licky. Harmony settled in quickly with a larger group of rats.
