Variety: Pink-eyed white
Born: Late September 2007
Died: 1st September 2010
Origin: Pet Rescue UK Forum
Litter Mates: Isabella and Araminta
Health: Extremely poor eyesight, but doesn't seem to cause problems apart from regularly falling off things.
16th Dec 2008 - Acting strangely. Doesn't want to leave cage. May have head tilt - if so very mild.
4th Jan 2009 - Small lump on belly between back legs. Looks like mammary lump - keep an eye on it.
9th Jan 2009 - Mammary lump removed.
22nd April 2009 - Ivermectin for mites.
1st May 2009 - repeat Ivermectin.
27th January 2010 - In for mammary lump removal under back leg. Vet found a second lump on the other side so did midline incision and took both out.
4th February 2010 - Angelina needed Metacam for a couple of days until she stopped looking fluffed up, but is getting back to normal now.
7th April 2010 - tiny pea sized lump beginning to regrow on the left side. She's still climbing up things she can't get down from, still dotty as ever.
16th July 2010 - Back legs almost useless, several mammary lumps. Vet trip to reassure myself she's not in pain - fine to let her keep going as long as she's bright and managing, which she is.
5th August 2010 - Angelina is amazing. She can really shift despite her poor back legs, mainly because she doesn't weigh anything. Her lumps are shrinking, she's enjoying life, and she looks like she's going to go on for ever.
1st September 2010 - Angelina was struggling to pull herself around and having real problems eating enough to sustain herself. When she started to get sore I decided it was time to let her go.
Temperament: Friendly and cheeky.
Angelina Ballerina is named after a storybook character. There's even a whole Angelina Ballerina website! She arrived at Ratty Corner on Sunday 2nd of December, 2007, with her two sisters. Despite seeming to have very poor vision, Angelina is really friendly and brave. She enjoys running on the wheel, probably because she can run at full tilt without being in danger of colliding with anything. She likes climbing up onto my shoulder and hiding in my hair. She is wonderfully pure and white and incredibly dainty.
MRC April Show, 12th April 2008 - 1st of 1 - PEW Adult
Fair head, fairly good eye and type. Some staining around the neck. Colour to standard but some staining on coat spoils. (GM & SM)
(She had a bath two days before, she had a good wipe that morning, but yes, she was still pink. Sigh.)
