We noticed a small lump near Shorty's back leg yesterday.
Took her in for the vet to have a look this morning.
By lunchtime she'd had it removed - the vet who removed it reckons it looked cancerous. They also took the opportunity to have a good feel of her fat tum, and couldn't find anything suspicious.
We arrived at three to collect her but she had neatly removed all the stitches so we had to wait for her to be resewn.
The good news - so far the stitches are holding.
Hum, well, she's back at the vets for re-stitching again. There goes another fifty quid. They groaned when I went back in this morning. The vets are going to try a collar, but I can't see it working myself. Trouble is, she's not that happy with being handled yet, although she's much better than when she came 2 months ago. She's getting very stressed with the vets, poor little girl.
Thinking back, I think Pirate had to be stitched twice when he was neutered, but they had more skin to work with there. Shorty has a round hole so it's stretched more.
We did have a lovely box full of old wrapping paper and the kids' outgrown sock for the girls to dig and rustle around in. No more. They've moved it all into an enormous nest in their cage.
